Love Interests: Had a one-night stand with Vic Barnes and he is the father of Ryan Samson. (And was Jimmy Samson’s father). Was an old flame of Jonathan Price and had brief affairs with Thomas Carrington and Jules Erron.

Biography: Angel is the Executive Manager of Crossroads. She likes the role because it gives her power, which she constantly lords over Kate, and Angel loves power. However, she is a deeply insecure woman who’s greatest fear is Max will leave her for Kate. When Susie Samson returned with Baby Matt, Angel immediately launched a custody battle. When Susie was shot dead Angel became one of the main suspects however, it was Betty Waddell and not Angel who had killed Susie. Angel took responsibility for the murder with Max to protect Betty. Ryan later discovered that he and Jimmy were in fact Vic's children and not Max's. When Max left Angel for Diane and then Jan, Angel threw herself at Jules Erron and then Thomas Carrington.

Love Interests: Former flame of Kate Russell-Taylor. Had an affair with Jenny Roberts but he accidentally murdered her during an argument. Slept with Lady Alice Fox, Scarlet, Honey Raymond & Nicky Raymond. Had a brief fling with Diane Lawrence, made a pass at Lydia Maynard and is currently in a relationship with Jan Hardgreeves.

Biography: Max took over Crossroads when his half-brother, Vic, died. He kept a promise made to Vic to let Kate stay on. Max is a serial womaniser and has an open marriage with Angel. However, he knows that an affair with Kate would end his marriage with Angel. Max was one of the suspects when Susie Samson was shot dead. When he found out he wasn't Jimmy and Ryan's father he left Angel and entered a relationship with Jan Hardgreeves.

Biography: Patty Maynard is the mother of Angel. Patty hates Max and doesn’t want him to be married to her daughter. She’ll try, and has, everything to get rid of him. Patty is cold, sharp and has a nasty tongue on her. She knows a lot about Max’s dodgy past but too her shame she was caught up with the insane Ethan Black. But that didn't stop Patty and her scheming. When Susie was murdered she told DS Jenson she believed Max had killed Susie. Then she plotted to get Max with Jan Hardgreeves and Angel together with Thomas Carrington.

Love Interests: Had a fling with Beena Shah that led to her becoming obsessed with him. Also slept with Helen Raven and Lola Wise. Honey Raymond, Dale Kingston and Vince Vacorro have all made passes at him. Currently in an on-off relationship with former conquest Helen Raven.

Biography: Ryan will do everything he can to get what he wants and is dedicated to business. He’ll rob, blackmail ect to achieve his goals. A year after Vic Barnes died Ryan decided to find out more about his uncle. He found out more than he bargained for, Vic was really his father. The revelation nearly destroyed the Samson family.

Family:

Biography: Betty is the faithful servant of the Samson family. She knows all their dark secrets but is loyal to them. She is now head of House Keeping, a job she does enjoy. Betty did have a thing for Rocky but put it behind her when he married Virginia. When Susie Samson returned and caused nothing but pain for most Crossroads residents Betty snapped and killed her. She later confessed to Angel, who has since told Max that she killed Susie and not Betty.
